Trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon US

Last weekend on 3rd August 2013 I visited Cannon beach with Poonam Pathak(my wife), Mahendra Sharma, Aastha Sharma and Srinivas. We started at around 12:15 from Vancouver, Wa and picked Srinivas from Tualatin, Or and then were headed for our memorable trip to Cannon Beach.

We reached there around 14:30 and then the hunt for car parking started. After making few rounds we were lucky enough to get a spot in public parking. Although it was a bit far from Haystack rock but it's fine to walk along the beach on a sunny day.

When we hit the shore, all of us were amazed with the beauty of the scene. It was a clear sky, water was blue and lots of people on the beach. And to add the charm, nice cold breeze was flowing. I was so amazed that I started singing songs. We all were so excited and can't wait to make fun with water.
Slowly slowly we started walking towards the haystack rock while gossipping, clicking pictures & teasing each other.

There is a small animal reserve area just before the Haystack rock and you can see Star fishes there. You can even touch them but can't take them with  you. I love the signboard there: Only Birds beyond this point. We spent a long time there, watching the natural beauty.

After that we headed back towards our car around 17:00 hrs. To add to our surprise, ladies brought nice home prepared food with them and all of us started eating as if we didn't have food for years. Food was so yummy that we can't resist ourselves till almost everything was finished.

Now it was difficult to move further with heavy stomach, but we can't resist ourselves from visiting Ecola State Park. It's a paid park and you need to pay $5 as entry fees per vehicle. Good thing is that they accept credit cards also. It was not a long queue at the entrance, only 2 vehicles ahead of us. But when we reached the view point, it was bit crowded. The viewpoint is located on the mountain and the view of beach, sea and Haystack rock is breathtaking. An hour passed in just glimpses. It is a perfect place to watch sunset but we were having different plans. We decided to go to Indian Beach. It's another 15 mins drive from Viewpoint. Once we reached there, all the bags were open and now we have kites and balls to play. Poonam and Aastha got busy in flying kites. Special thanks to Mahendra for helping them with kite flying. And then beach ball started and we were running like mads catching the ball.

Finally, it was almost 19:45 and we decide to head back towards home. We started from there and decided to take dinner at India Sweet & Spices in Beaverton, Or. We reached there around 20:50 and were surprised to know that they closes kitchen at 20:30. But we were fortunate enough to get Samosas. After finishing samosas and laddoos we started our journey back. Dropped Srinivas back in Tualatin and reached home at around 22:30.

We all were tired but were very happy with the trip. It's one of the most enjoyable trips of my life.
Thanks to Mahendra bhaiya, Aastha bhabhi & Srinivas for coming and making this trip so lively.
